It's the Little Things...

I have been on maternity leave for almost two weeks now... and I am loving every minute of it. I know that when the baby is born, I won't be able to get very much done, so I am trying to be very productive right now. This morning I finished steam cleaning the carpets in our place. The last time I cleaned the carpets was 6 months ago... but wanted to make it fresh again before Anna arrives. I receive so much satisfaction as I pour out dirty water and know that it is no longer in my carpet! I'm pretty sure the carpet in our place is very cheap, but after 3 years, it looks almost brand new after being cleaned... it is so AWESOME! Just wanted to share the little things that bring me great joy!

The Portrait of a Princess

Before our new baby arrives, we wanted to pay tribute to
our first baby, Scarlet. We adopted Scarlet from the Downey
Animal Shelter on February 7, 2005. In the past 2+ years,
Scarlet has been a faithful companion... spoiled and bratty...
but faithful.

alive and flourishing! Scarlet has been thoroughly enjoying outdoor living, and now that I am off work, she spends most of her day basking in the sun.

FREEDOM!

Today was my last day of work!

After teaching science for just three years, I am going to stay home with baby Anna once she is born. I have so much I want to accomplish before she arrives. I left school today, came straight home and began to reorganize my bathroom cupboards. I can't wait until tomorrow to get started on some other projects! I am making Anna's baby book from scratch, so that will be one of my main projects for the next few weeks!

I'm unemployed! (WOW that is really scary!)

Eric's Off to Panama!

Eric is headed to Panama! Late Sunday night 4/23, Eric will
be joining 2 pastors on a short trip. I'm not entirely sure of
the purpose or goals for this particular trip, other than to seek
the Lord's will for this country. Please keep the three of them
in your prayers! We will of course post photos and updates after
he returns!

Double Baby Shower

Eric and I were so blessed to share a day of celebration with my brother Chad, and his wife Mindy, who are also expecting! Our family threw a fantastic double baby shower and it was a wonderful day! Baby Davis and Baby Tharaldson will meet this summer!

The Baby's Corner

WASHINGTON D.C.

I am finally getting around to updating! We took a trip to Washington DC on March 1-5. It was fantastic! Not only was the weather beautiful, but we had a great time with our friends John and Paige. We spent three days on a whirlwind tour of the major sights, Eric even got a private tour of the Pentagon (It's good having friends in high places- thanks John!) In our short time there, we were able to visit the Capital, the Whitehouse, the Archives, the Library of Congress, the Botanical Gardens, the Smithsonian, the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial, Mt. Vernon, the Pentagon and the coziest place in town- the Turner home.
